  • Work Release Program
  • Maintenance of Incarceration Record

In addition to the jail, the whole complex also houses a Work Deployment Facility as well. It is a facility comprised of non-violent detainees who serve their sentence in a minimum-security facility. They are released during the day to work supervised. But, not all detainees can participate in the work-release program.

There is also a Records & Identification Unit and a Transport Section.

Inmate Visitation and Contact Policies

Inmates can be visited. However, visits have to be scheduled and registered at least 24 hours in advance. You are allowed to schedule your visit up to seven days before the visit takes place. But, before scheduling, each visitor should complete the registration process. That can be done online via GTL Visit Me or in person at the self-serve kiosk at the Visitation Center of the Cobb County Jail.

Each visitor has to show a valid government-issued photo ID to the Visitation Center staff. Minors have to be accompanied by adult visitors. Visits last for 30 minutes, but if you are more than 15 minutes late, the visit may be forfeited.

Although visitors are not subject to security screenings, it is expected of them to follow the jail’s rules. Visitors have to be dressed conservatively. Also, they can’t carry food, cell phones, drinks, and other prohibited items into the visitation area.

Detainees can’t receive phone calls. However, they can place phone calls at certain times if the recipients have established an account with Global Tel Link, Inc.

Individuals booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center can have a deposit account opened for them to receive money. Detainees can also receive mail, but be aware that nothing but greeting cards and photos can be mailed.

How to Conduct Cobb County Inmate Search

If you suspect a loved one or a family member has been arrested in Cobb County, Georgia, and detained at the Cobb County Jail, you may want to perform an inmate search. When a suspect is arrested, the arresting officer fills out booking forms before holding the suspect in jail. The information included in the forms becomes Cobb County booking records.

These records are public. That means the general public can review booking records without asking for anyone’s permission.

The inmate search can be done online and can offer useful information about what happened. You can conduct the search through the inmate search website. You’ll need at least the detainee’s first and last name to conduct a search. Don’t forget to try common misspellings of their name, just in case.

If you are not sure whether your loved one is detained at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, select “Inquiry” from the dropdown menu. If you are certain, select “In Custody.” Bear in mind that the data will be more accurate if you have the inmate’s SOID number, which is the Sheriff’s Office identification number.

If you need more inmate information, consider contacting the jail’s administration at the phone number stated above.
